Accident at Work
Mrs R. was injured whilst working at a supermarket. The back area had been left in a mess by other employees and our client tripped and fell over some of the equipment. She received compensation for her injuries and loss of earnings from her employer.
Background
Our client was in one of the back areas of the supermarket where other employees were working. The other employees had made a mess whilst carrying out their work.
As our client entered the room, she tripped over some equipment which had been left running across the doorway and fell, suffering a broken wrist. The other employees had failed to keep the area tidy or warn our client that there was a danger of tripping as she entered the room.
All employers must, by law, have employer’s liability insurance to cover the cost of compensating employees who are injured in an accident at work. This is important so employees like Mrs R. can receive fair compensation without causing financial hardship to their employer.
What we did
Our solicitor took on the case and pursued an accident at work claim against the employer who is responsible for the acts and omissions of fellow employees during the course of their employment.
Settlement
Our client received £10,000 in compensation for the injuries that resulted from the accident.
